I cloned myself with Artificial Intelligence
We’re in the middle of an AI explosion
And there’s a lot of debate about what it can do and what it can’t. I believe that it’s important for all of us to learn and experiment with Artificial Intelligence so that we can see first hand what is real and what is hype.
There’s a lot of hype, for sure.
But there’s also a lot that’s very, very real.
It’s important to understand how A.I. will impact the ways that each of us work, collaborate, and communicate on teams. This will be especially true for teams that operate internationally.
So check out what I did this week. In this video, I wasn’t standing in front of the camera. I wasn’t saying those words or moving my hands in that way. That’s a completely manufactured video. It was generated with A.I. simply when I uploaded the following script:
“Hi. I'm Dan.
Actually, I'm not Dan. I'm Dan's AI avatar.
There's a lot of debate about what AI can do, and what AI should do.
But check this out.
This avatar has been trained on my own voice, facial expressions, and hand gestures.
It's not perfect. But it's improving, rapidly.
And there's more! NOW I can also speak FIFTY different languages!”
I trained this video using some of my other content from YouTube. Now it knows what my voice sounds like and what my hands do when I say, “and there’s more.”
It’s still a little clunky in a few spots. But it’s advancing with mind-blowing speed.
And one of the things the Large Language Models are best at is language translation.
